Medical Image Sensors and Endoscopy
Area scan sensors for medical endoscopy are optimized for the smallest possible chip area, such that they can be integrated in minimal space. Further the chips are designed to operate with low power consumption and by using only a minimal number of electrical interface wires. Typically the sensors communicate data over a single bit serial LVDS line.
With the NanEye series, AWAIBA set’s the world record for minimal camera volume of only 1.5mm cube. The sensor, assembled with a special lens fits in a diameter of only 1.5mm, works fully autonomous and can drive up to 2m cable without any external components at the distal end.
Other medical applications where AWAIBA provides imaging technology include Laproscopy, X-Ray panels and CT as well as digital Microscopy.

Highspeed Digital Line scan sensors for industrial inspection and measurement applications
Line scan sensors are the technology of choice when objects have to be inspected to small details at high throughput speed. Due to the outstanding sensitivity of AWAIBA line-scan sensors, the exposure time can be reduced to few micro seconds which avoids motion blur in fast moving inspection tasks. AWAIBA’s Dragster series of digital line-scan sensors set’s a new standard in terms of speed, low noise and SNR, at the ease of integration of a fully digital component.

Area scan sensors for industrial, scientific and high-speed applications
AWAIBA offers a series of Area scan sensors with Global Shutter pixels for industrial inspection and scientific imaging. These sensors offer resolutions of up to 4Mpixel and readout rate above 1000Fps.
Image sensors with Global Shutter are required in computer vision when fast moving objects have to be pictured without motion blur. Examples of such applications would be high-speed analysis or computer vision for automated measurement and quality control. AWAIBA’s design team was among the first in bringing Global Shutter pixels to CMOS technology and since has steadily to advance its development. Meanwhile, programmable window’s of interest, multiple readout windows and high dynamic range pixel response are other features that AWAIBA has integrated in its digital area scan sensors.
